In India Engineer’s day celebrated on 15th September every year. The Engineering community of India celebrates this day in the honor of the greatest engineer of India, Bharat Ratna Sir Mokshagundam Vishweshvaraya. He born on the 15th September 1861 in Mysore. Sir Mokshagondam Visweswarayya is popularly known as Sir MV. Sir MV was also 19th Diwan of Mysore between 1912 to 1919. 15 September is celebrated as Engineer’s Day in India, Sri Lanka and Tanzania in his memory. Sir MV was the chief engineer of the Krishna Raja Sagara damn of Mysore City and also chief engineer of Flood protection system for Hyderabad.
